Hello...
...and thank you for taking the time to view my photography.
I've been shooting on and off for over 50 years now. My work has been published in "Outdoor Photographer," "Panorama," "Best of California," "Windows of the World" (among others) and has been the subject of several one-man shows. Displays and exhibitions include the miniatures show at The Monterey Museum of Art, and the Center for Photographic Arts in Carmel. I am a past instructor of photography in the graduate school of photography at Academy of Art University, in San Francisco, and I am a member of The Imagemakers.
Artistic:
My work is strongly grounded in the classic tenents of the fine arts, in which I was trained.
My work tends toward the strongly graphic and is often metaphorical.
As noted in my "artist's statment" it is thru form that we find solace and share the human experience.
Having been schooled in the fine arts, I try to offer a unique view of traditional subjects, melding the eye of a painter and graphic designer, with the tools of photography.
Technical:
I shoot a Nikon D300 with Nikkor ED lenses, and produce my own prints on an Epson 3800, using K3 inks for assured print longevity.
On Figure Studies:
Any photos involving the nude body are approved by both the model and myself.
